The Dourakis winery is located in Alikampos on the road from Vrysses to Sfakia in the prefecture of Chania. One of the largest in the region and among the finest wineries in Crete, Dourakis winery has achieved a growing reputation and a series of awards for its wines.
The Dourakis family has created a small paradise here, with vineyards of different varieties stretching along the slopes of the White Mountains. Visitors are given a warm, personal welcome, followed by a tour of the winery with its lovingly constructed traditional rooms and cellars and its sprawling vineyards. Many of our guests enjoy doing their touring by bike, participating in organized excursions, pedaling around on their own or exploring the beautiful old town of Rethymnon with its picturesque alleys and squares. The town has a special bike path, separated from both road and sidewalk, that is illuminated by little lanterns and lined by small palm trees. The harbor is also nearby, so in no time at all you can be gliding alongside the water, next to yachts and fishing boats.
