The Mythos Palace Resort & Spa offers a variety of activities for children (ages 4 – 12). Every day, our recreation team organizes various programs for both children and adults – with a focus on enjoyment, sport and fun.

CHILDREN

Mini-Club & Playground

At our Mini-Club, children participate in a combination of games, sports and fun activities so that they can return home again with a rich store of new experiences and wonderful memories. Aside from the organized children’s programs at Mythos Palace Resort & Spa, there is a children’s pool, playground and Mini-Club at the beach.

The highpoint of the children’s day, however, is often the Mini-Disco, where parents can also join in the fun.
Children under 4 years of age are also welcome at the Mini-Club if they are accompanied by a babysitter or parent.

There is also a babysitting service available for children. Kindly inquire at the Guest Relations Department regarding the times and fees for this extra service.

HIKING TO LAKE KOURNAS

There is no better way to experience the beauty of the Cretan countryside than by hiking through its natural wonders on foot. One of our favourite excursions involves a pleasant hike through ancient olive groves with the White Mountains as a backdrop – up to the enchanting Lake Kournas just 6.5 kilometres from the hotel.

TRADITIONAL VILLAGES

Preserving centuries of beauty, charm and Cretan hospitality, traditional villages offer a distilled experience of Cretan life that is simply unforgettable. Visit the nearby village of Argyroupolis with its enchanting waterfalls, or the fishing village of Georgioupolis, or the traditional village of Vamos. These short excursions through impressive, multicoloured landscapes will bring you into direct contact with the miracle of Cretan hospitality - in traditional cafes and family tavernas.

WINE TASTING AT THE DOURAKIS WINERY

The Dourakis winery is located in Alikampos on the road from Vrysses to Sfakia in the prefecture of Chania. One of the largest in the region and among the finest wineries in Crete, Dourakis winery has achieved a growing reputation and a series of awards for its wines.

The Dourakis family has created a small paradise here, with vineyards of different varieties stretching along the slopes of the White Mountains. Visitors are given a warm, personal welcome, followed by a tour of the winery with its lovingly constructed traditional rooms and cellars and its sprawling vineyards. Finally, you can taste the wines yourself and learn first-hand how they were produced and what makes them so special.

Discover Rethymnon by bike 

Many of our guests enjoy doing their touring by bike, participating in organized excursions, pedaling around on their own or exploring the beautiful old town of Rethymnon with its picturesque alleys and squares. The town has a special bike path, separated from both road and sidewalk, that is illuminated by little lanterns and lined by small palm trees. The harbor is also nearby, so in no time at all you can be gliding alongside the water, next to yachts and fishing boats.

Water sports on Crete

With daytime summer temperatures hovering around 35 degrees Celsius, visitors to Crete naturally spend a good part of their time in the sea, cooling off in the crystal-clear turquoise waters, relaxing on the sandy beaches or trying a variety of water sports. There are so many possibilities to explore!

Diving is naturally one of the most popular summer pastimes in Crete, where the water is sparkling clean and clear, and many places are known for their abundant fish and coral. Diving with mask and snorkel is a wonderful way to discover the hidden beauties of the sea and provides a wonderful experience for beginners and experts alike.
